(Grades 9-12) Students enrolled in choir will begin a study of vocal literature through the performance of various types of choral music. Concepts addressed in choir rehearsals include the fundamentals of proper singing, melody, rhythm, harmony, form, dynamics, tempo, foreign language, and expression through movement, stage presence, and concert etiquette. Choir is a performance-based class, so rehearsals are geared toward various performances throughout the year. The Lowellville High School Choir performs at music department concerts, sporting events, school assemblies, and community functions. In choir, the art of music is learned, expressed, and appreciated through the performance of music from different historical periods in a variety of music styles.
