Period 6 - Career Development (Grade 8)

Career Development is a semester course offered to all
 8th grade students to focus on directing the student to set goals for high school and beyond.

During the first nine-week grading period, students will explore the world of work, get to know themselves through self-assessment, research careers, develop an Individual Career Plan, develop job application/interviewing skills, develop workplace ethics, discover technology in the workplace, and develop professionalism through teamwork, leadership, communication, and decision making.  During the second nine-week grading period, students will participate in an entrepreneurial program entitled “Making A Job.”
