Website:             http://www.lowellville.k12.oh.us/olc/teacher.aspx?s=10

There is a link to this site on the Lowellville Schools webpage under high school – teacher webpages.  Check the website for lesson plans, a calendar of class events, and links to useful information.  You can check the website when you are absent to see what you missed.

Grading Scale:   A = 93-100

                                B = 85-92

                                C = 75-84

                                D = 65-74

                                F = 64 and lower

                                Grades will be rounded ONLY if the decimal is .5 or higher.

                                Example:  92.4 = B            92.5 = A

                                You will be given a grade sheet that will be used in class to keep track of your grade.

                                Also, check Progressbook often to see your grade as assignments are entered, and

                                compare to your grade sheet.

Your 9 week grades will be calculated by dividing your total points earned by the total points possible for the 9 week period.  Your points will come from tests, quizzes, homework, labs, in class assignments, projects and participation.  Homework will be checked periodically and checks will not be announced.  Notebooks / binders will be checked at the end of each 9 week period.  They will be checked for completeness, and to see that all class materials have been kept.

Final Grades:     Final grades for the course will be calculated as follows:

                                1st 9 weeks = 20%

                                2nd 9 weeks = 20%

                                Midterm Exam = 10%

                                3rd 9 weeks = 20%

                                4th 9 weeks = 20%

                                Final Exam = 10 %

I am available for help during 1st period study hall, 5th period lunch and 9th period planning each day.  Please do not hesitate to stop by if you are having trouble understanding the material taught in class.

Class Rules:

  • Be in the room when the bell rings.  You will be given one warning, and then detentions will be issued.

  • Be respectful of others and their property.

  • You have 2 locker / restroom passes for each 9 week period.  Plan accordingly.  You will receive extra credit if you do not use them.

  • All assignments and homework are due at the time specified.  Late work will not be accepted.  Missing assignments will receive zeros and cannot be made up at the end of the 9 week period.

  • Test dates and assignment due dates will be listed on the calendar at the front of the room, as well as on my website.

  • Assignments should be turned in to the shelves under the TV.  There is a folder there with your period number on it.

  • If you are absent, check with me as soon as you return for missed work.  Also check the website.

  • Missed tests must be made up at a time other than during your class period so that you do not miss out on additional information or work.

  • Cell phones must be placed in the holder on the door before class begins.  If you have your phone on you, and we are not using them in class, I will send it to the office.  Your parent will need to get it after school.

  • Remain in your assigned seat throughout the entire period.  If you have time to work on an assignment at the end of the period, you may not move to another table.  Stay seated until the bell rings.

  • You will have one extra credit opportunity each 9 week period.  Take advantage of it!  There will not be any additional chances to gain extra points as the grading period comes to an end.
