  • Our field trip to the Mineral Museum at YSU is coming up on November 8th.  Please send in signed permission slips.

  • Our Spotlight Student last week was Manny Hennon!!  Manny invited his Grandma Georgia in to talk

about her experiences as a medical assistant.  She takes a patient’s weight, temperature, and blood pressure.

She even draws blood and charts for the doctor.  Although she is home now to take care of her family, she

is willing to get back into her career again.  Grandma Georgia demonstrated the different instruments she

uses and the students had a chance to take part.  The students found their pulse and listened to their

heartbeat with a stethoscope.  Reporter Sydney Procick was on hand to report that Manny’s grandma

usually works 8 am to 8 pm and that she learns more and more each day.  Gianna Palumbo reports that

grandma had worked for 15 years, some at a family practice office and even checks eyes  and does stitches.

Her favorite part of her job is when someone feels sick and then she makes a patient feel better and they

thank her.  Reporter Bella Lamont concludes by saying how Grandma Georgia likes all of the people she

meets, the happy ones and even the grumpy ones.  Thank you for a wonderful visit!!!

There will be no school tomorrow, October 13th.

Thank you to Michael Frohman’s dad for visiting our classroom for Spotlight Student. Reporter Bella LaMont informs us that Mr. Frohman works six days a week. The cars he mainly checks are Subarus.  His favorite things to do at work are brakes and oil changes.  Reporter Gianna Palumbo adds he keeps the cars moving.  He has worked at Subaru for three years.  He works on probably twenty cars a day.  Sydney Procick reports that the company works on about 240 cars, trucks, and vans a week.  He keeps the garage at 60 degrees so he can keep moving.  Finally, Caitlyn Smith reports that it takes 20 minutes to change a tire.   Michael handed out lanyards from the company and also  notepads that the students are enjoying very much!!!!!!!!!  Thank You!!!
