ABSENT/TARDY

If your child will not be in school please call the main office at  (330) 536-8426 ext.100 or 101 before 9:00am.  When your child returns back to school, a note explaining why he/she was absent must be given to the teacher.

Students arriving AFTER 8:30am will be marked TARDY.

QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS

I believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is important for maximum school success.  Throughout the year I will communicate with you through newsletters, phone calls, and parent-teacher conferences.  I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time.  My contact information is as follows:

Mrs. LaMont

(330) 536-8426 ext. 118

 r.lamont@lowellvilleschool.org

You are also welcome to send in a note with your child to school and I will get back to you ASAP.

DISMISSAL

If you need to pick up your child during the school day, you must sign him/her out in the office.   Then, the secretary will call our classroom for your child to come to the office.

If you plan to pick up your child that normally rides the bus or if your child will be picked up by someone different than whom usually picks him/her up, then you must send in a written note.  If a written note is not received, your child will be sent home by his/her usual method of transportation.

LUNCH MONEY

If your child will be purchasing lunch please put his/her money in an envelope with his/her first and last name clearly marked on the outside.  Students can pay daily, weekly, or monthly.  If you are writing a check, please make it out to Lowellville Schools or Lowellville Cafeteria.

STAR STUDENTS

A star student will be selected each week (every child will be chosen).  This student will be given special privileges during the week (such as class helper, line leader, etc.) and he/she will get to take home the “class pet” over the weekend.

BIRTHDAYS

Birthdays are a very exciting time and your child is welcome to bring in a treat to share with his/her classmates on their special day.  Please let us know at least a week ahead of time if you are planning to send in a treat.  Students are not obligated to bring in a treat.  This is strictly voluntary.  We will celebrate summer birthdays the last couple of weeks of school.

***IF YOUR CHILD HAS ANY FOOD ALLERGIES PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP.

Students will also be given a Birthday Pouch to take home on the day of their birthday (or closest to it) to share with their family.  More detailed information about the Birthday Pouch will be enclosed in the pouch the day your child brings it home.

BOOK ORDERS

Your child will be bringing home a form to order books from Scholastic Book Clubs.  If you wish to order, simply fill out the form and send in a CHECK ONLY made payable to the book company in an envelope.  These orders are provided as a convenient way for parents to buy quality books for their child at a low price.  Of course, you are never under any obligation to order.

TAKE HOME BINDER

Each student will have a Take Home Binder.  It is to be taken home and returned daily.  In the binder will be the papers they completed for that day and an assignment sheet.  The assignment sheet will list homework skills to be practiced with your child.  As your child completes the task for the day please initial it and then place the assignment sheet back in the binder.  Please remember to put the binder in their book bag so they have it for the next day.  If there is not an assignment for that day please still initial the space provided so that we know the binder was checked for important papers.

**TAKE HOME BINDERS WILL BE CHECKED DAILY SO IF YOU HAVE ANY IMPORTANT PAPERS, LUNCH MONEY, NOTES, ETC. PLACE THEM IN THE POUCH INSIDE THE BINDER SO I WILL SEE THEM.**

The following expectations will be met by having this Take Home Binder:

  • A short time set aside each evening will instill the value of good study habits needed for years to come.
  • Consistent practice will give your child confidence to perform and  master necessary skills.
  • Your child will see a home-school connection and realize that parent and teacher are working together for their success
  • A sense of pride, self esteem and responsibility will develop.

THANK YOU in advance for all your help and concern.  I am looking forward to working with each and every one of you to help make your child’s Kindergarten year a very special and memorable experience.
