  • Happy Birthday wishes go out to Sydney Procick who will celebrate her special day on Dec. 24th.
  • The boys and girls did such a nice job at the Winter Concert!  They are all stars!
  • Our visit to the Senior Citizens was filled with the holiday spirit. We sang Christmas Carols and two songs from our concert.   The residents were happy to sing along!  Mrs. Kacir read two books before we made a Rudolph candy cane craft and put together a baggie of reindeer food.  The day ended with a jello and whip cream treat!  What a great way to celebrate the season!
  • As the new year is approaching there are two dates we would like you to save.  Our Wax Museum will be on Feb. 23rd and our Authors’ Tea, May 17th.  Families are invited to both.  More info. coming.
  • Thank you to Anthony Madison’s Grandpa and Uncle David for visiting our classroom for Spotlight Student. Reporter Isabella LaMont reports that they brought in a model airplane  that it is a copy of a World War II fighter plane and Anthony build 85 percent of it. Reporter Kailyn Ferreri adds that it is a remote control plane and that it can stay in the air 20 to 30 minutes.  Josh Kelly says that when the model plane is finished it will cost $900 and that the plane is  made out of wood.  Reporter Gianna Palumbo adds that it is 3 feet long and that Anthony has 6 or 7 planes in an attic room.  Reporter Sydney Procick says that Anthony builds a lot of things but this is one of his best and that Anthony worked on this plane for about 3 months. Xavier West adds that the plane runs on gas and Reporter Ricky Willrich says Anthony had to buy 5 things that didn’t go with the model kit in order to work on it and that the plane can go 60 to 65 miles in a hour. Reporter Felicia Mentzer reports he can’t fly the plane in his back yard because it is so big and that he is going to fly it in a flying field.  Finally reporter Kayla Weinreber says Anthony is hoping to fly it in the summer.  Thank you to Anthony’s family for a very interesting visit.

                                                                   See You in 2018!!!!

  • Thank you to our most recent Spotlight Student, Isabella LaMont , for inviting her dad in to talk about his job at Soft – Lite Windows which has been in business since 1934 reports Sydney Procick.   She adds that Mr. LaMont has been in the window industry for 24 years, most recently, traveling and meeting with people who sell the products, making sure they are working properly, and does training.  Do you believe though, according to Josh Kelly, that his very first job was selling candy!?!?  He brought samples of his window products and taught us how heat escapes through windows using a heat lamp.  Samantha Shumaker reports that he had pens for the students and a cool Save Energy activity booklet.  Felicia Mentzer wants us to know that Mr. Lamont’s company makes 8 different windows, but his favorites are the ones that are wood framed. Energy Star is a government program that helps businesses and people save money.  So when you see the Energy Star symbol, know that you can save on your gas and electric bills.  He finished his visit with some Energy Star Trivia.  Thank you for a fun, informative visit!
