Read Across America!

Read Across America

Read Across America was celebrated by K-6 students! To kick off the week and to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday, the teachers decorated their classroom door with characters from a Dr. Seuss book! Only one thing was missing-the Title! The students had a chance all week to guess the title!!! The teachers and students participated in many fun activities.  One was to dress up like a character in a Dr. Seuss book!  PTO had tickets given to everyone who dressed like a character and had a prize basket full of Dr. Seuss goodies for the lucky ticket that was drawn! Congratulations to Gabriel Fowler! To add to the excitement the teacher and her class whose door was chosen as the best in the hall, received trophies and an ice cream themed Dr. Seuss party from the PTO to end our week of fun!  Miss Firmstone's Kindergarten class took the honor! Hip Hip Hooray!!!!

Read Across America does not stop there!  On April 27 an author will present her book and writing experiences to students K-6, AND plans are in the making for a Literacy Night on April 28!  SAVE THE DATES!
