Scholarships
Seniors will be notified of local scholarships as they become available this fall. Scholarship information will be shared via the Class of ‘25 Google Classroom, on this page of the school website, and on a Google Sheet that will be shared with seniors in September. Some scholarships are to be completed online, some are to be completed as a physical application, which Mrs. Killingsworth will submit to the organization. Students are to stay on top of deadlines and requirements. Late submissions will not be accepted. Please visit this page regularly for updates.
A scholarship workshop will be held in October in the CCP lab for all seniors; we will be creating a strong essay as well as learning about how to increase odds of receiving scholarships.

1. Mahoning Valley Basketball Officials Association Scholarship: Deadline January 13 2025. This is a paper application that may be filled out. Short essay required. Minimum GPA 3.00 or higher. Two letters of recommendation required. Schedule of games must be submitted. Please turn in to Mrs. Killingsworth by the due date.

3. Seven Seventeen Credit Union Scholarships: Deadline Feb. 24 (this is ahead of their stated deadline because I need to mail them in) All require a 3.00 GPA, short essay and 2 letters of recommendation.

4. Lester Marrison Teacher Education Book Grant - $1000 Education majors may apply for the Lester Marrison Teacher Education Book Grant, sponsored by the Northeast Region of the Ohio School Boards Association. Applicant must have at least a 3.00 GPA, and plan to major in teacher education at an accredited college. Application is not online; see Mrs. Killingsworth to apply. Essay and two letters of recommendation. Deadline to turn documents in is January 13, 2025.
5. The Mark Vincent Pelini Foundation Scholarship is available to students with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Deadline March 9, 2025. Amount undisclosed but this scholarship is renewable based on college academics. Essay and one letter of recommendation required. 6. FB Walter Scholarship - Provided by the Ohio Educational Service Center; amount undisclosed, no minimum GPA required. Essay required. No letters of recommendation required. Deadline February 14, 2025. Application is a physical paper application, not online.

8. Equitable Excellence Scholarship - 100 renewable awards for $5000. No minimum GPA, essay, or letter of recommendation. Deadline December 18, 2024. Apply at: https://learnmore.scholarsapply.org/equitableexcellence/
9. The Epsilon Sigma Alpha organization offers several scholarships to graduating seniors. Amounts and requirements vary based upon the individual scholarship. Deadline for all scholarships is January 31, 2025. Apply at: https://www.epsilonsigmaalpha.org/scholarships-and-grants
10. The Crystal Lake Foundation is awarding 15 scholarships for $1000 each to local seniors. 300-500 word essay required. No minimum GPA or letter of recommendation. Application is not online; will be passed out in homeroom. Applications must be turned in to Mrs. Killingsworth by February 24, 2025.
11. The Will McCaughtry Foundation is awarding one scholarship for $1000 to a Lowellville senior. Minimum GPA 2.0. Essay required. Application is not online; will be passed out in homeroom. Due to Mrs. Killingsworth by April 28, 2025.
12. The Franklin B. Walter Scholarship, provided by the Ohio Educational Service Center Association, is awarding one scholarship, amount undisclosed, to a senior in a Mahoning County school district. Essay and two letters of recommendation required. No minimum GPA. Application is not online; will be passed out in homeroom. Due to Mrs. Killingsworth by February 10, 2025.
13. The Berkshire Hathaway organization is awarding 3 scholarships in the amount of $1000, renewable for four years. 3.0 minimum GPA required, one letter of recommendation and essay. Not available online; will be passed out in homeroom. Due to Mrs. Killingsworth by February 24.
