College Credit Plus

College Credit Plus, or CCP, is available to students in grades 7-12 through Youngstown State University.  Starting the 22-23 school year, we are planning on also offering Eastern Gateway credit as well.

CCP is also known as "dual credit" because students can earn college credit, free of charge, while simultaneously earning high school credit.  Grades earned in CCP courses are reflected in the official transcript and affect a student's high school GPA.  Students who fail a CCP course will be required to reimburse the district for the cost of the course.  CCP is not appropriate for students who have trouble with organization and diligence, as these are college-level courses and require an appropriate level of maturity.  Classes are available in-person or online, depending on the institution's availability.

Lowellville will be hosting a CCP Information Night on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 6pm at the High School.  Interested parents and students are strongly encouraged to attend. If you are unable to attend, please contact me at 330-536-8426 x179.

YSU will be hosting a virtual CCP meeting Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 6pm.  Contact the CCP office at 330-941-2447 for information about registering for this event.

Students not currently enrolled and wishing to do so may begin the process in January of 2022.  I will be visiting classrooms in December to discuss this opportunity with students.
