Each year, the state requires school districts to do blanket gifted testing. In our district, we test in 2nd and 6th grade to identify any student who may be gifted in math, reading, creative thinking, or superior cognitive. This year, our tests were in September. If your child is identified by the blanket gifted testing, you will be notified by a mailed letter.
Lowellville School District services gifted students in the classroom after they are formally identified. After identification, students will receive a Written Education Plan (WEP) outlining the goals set for them. We currently service students who are identified as gifted in Reading, Math, and Superior Cognitive.
