Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the initial step toward receiving federal aid for post-secondary options. There has been an update to the application process this year:
1. Students can start to fill out the FAFSA starting October 1, 2016 for the 2017-2018 Academic Year. This is three months earlier than previous years.
2. Senior students that intend to pursue post-secondary education can submit their FAFSA using 2015 tax information for the 2017-2018 academic year. If previous years, this would have been the 2016 tax information.
3. Priority deadlines for filing the FAFSA at several Ohio schools are changing and in some cases moving up to December 1, 2016. Below is an attachment for a tentative calendar for Ohio schools priority deadlines. Please touch base with Offices of Financial Aid to double check their priority deadline.
