Career Development is a semester course offered to all 8th grade students to focus on directing the student to set goals for high school and beyond.
During the first nine-week grading period, students will explore the world of work, get to know themselves through self-assessment, research careers, develop an Individual Career Plan, develop job application/interviewing skills, develop workplace ethics, discover technology in the workplace, and develop professionalism through teamwork, leadership, communication, and decision making. During the second nine-week grading period, students will participate in an entrepreneurial program entitled “Making A Job.”
The 8th Grade Career Development class will be touring the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center to view different career paths, training options, and technology. Please return your signed permission slip to Mrs. Ignazio by Monday, November 12.
