OUR MISSION:
Our PTO is a registered nonprofit organization founded to advocate, encourage, and support a positive school environment for our students, teachers, staff, families, and community. Our PTO provides volunteers and monetary funds to enrich and supplement the educational experience of all children of Lowellville Elementary School. We run entirely on donations and rely on volunteers like you to make our school system great.
HOW TO JOIN:
Joining is FREE. All that is required to become a PTO member and volunteer for school events/activities is to fill out and return the PTO Membership Form. You can also sign up at any PTO meeting. Please indicate what level of involvement you are interested in. There is no minimum obligation. All are welcome, including parents/guardians, grandparents, teachers, and community members. We are looking for new committee chairs and board members, as some current Board members are reaching the end of their term limits. Inquire at our next PTO meeting. We encourage everyone to get involved in any way that fits your schedule and interests. Your participation, big or small, makes a meaningful impact.
MEETINGS:
Public meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month at 6 PM in the School Library. All are welcome. Meetings discuss and plan upcoming events, financial information, and current school happenings. Those who attend meetings receive priority volunteering for events. However, you do not have to attend meetings to volunteer.
FUNDRAISING:
Our PTO works hard to raise over $18k annually to support our classrooms with much needed supplies, fund capital improvements around our school, create educational experiences (such as STEM and literacy programming) for our children, and provide family-friendly events throughout the school year. This year our planned fundraisers include fall mums, cookie dough, Easter candy, and spring flowers sales. We also sell spirit wear and host book fairs that directly benefit our school.
CONNECT WITH US:
Find and like our group on Facebook – Lowellville School PTO. Important updates, reminders, and flyers are posted to this group. This is our best communication tool for Lowellville families. Important flyers and order forms are sent home with elementary students. Weekly reminders are announced through the School’s All Call System. We welcome new ideas and fundraising opportunities. PM our Facebook page or contact a PTO Board member with any questions, comments, or concerns.
