As we mark the conclusion of the first semester of the 2025–2026 school year, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the many accomplishments of our students and staff.
The first semester was filled with memorable athletic competitions, impressive academic showcases, and outstanding musical performances. Our students continue to demonstrate dedication, talent, and school pride, and we are grateful to our teachers, coaches, advisors, and families for supporting these opportunities.
January has brought extremely cold temperatures, significant snowfall, and challenging weather conditions. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we have needed to make adjustments, including delays and school closures. These decisions are never made lightly. The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority, and we carefully monitor weather conditions before making any changes to the school schedule.
Attendance continues to be a major focus for our district. Regular school attendance is essential for student success, and our goal remains to ensure that all students are present, engaged, and supported. At this time, we are placing additional focus on students who have been identified as chronically absent. Through continued interventions and our partnership with the Mahoning County Juvenile Court, we are working collaboratively to address attendance concerns and support families in overcoming barriers to regular attendance. These efforts are designed to help students remain on a positive academic and personal path.
As we look ahead to the third nine-week grading period, we are hopeful for warmer weather and continued progress for our students. Thank you for your continued support, cooperation, and partnership as we work together to ensure the success and well-being of every Lowellville student.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Christine Sawicki

Dear Lowellville Families,
Welcome to the 2025-26 school year at Lowellville Schools! I hope you had a restful and enjoyable summer. We’re excited to kick off another year filled with learning, growth, and new opportunities.
This year, we’re continuing our focus on strong academics across all grade levels, helping students develop the skills and knowledge they need for their next steps—whether that’s college, career, or other goals after graduation.
Attendance will also be a key focus, as consistent attendance is essential for student success. We’ll work closely with families to support regular attendance and ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive.
As we begin this new school year, my door is always open. Please feel free to reach out with any questions, concerns, or ideas. Let’s make this year our best one yet!
I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as an assistant principal of the Lowellville
School District, and to be a part of a school community that values academic
excellence, strong relationships, and student-centered growth.
With 30 years of experience in education, I bring a deep commitment to supporting
students, empowering staff, and fostering a positive and inclusive school culture. I
believe that all students can thrive when they feel seen, supported, and inspired, and I
am dedicated to making that a daily reality here at Lowellville.
My goal is to build strong connections with students, families, and staff and to work
collaboratively toward our shared vision of success. I’m especially eager to listen, learn,
and partner with you in creating an environment where every student has the
opportunity to reach their full potential.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. We
look forward to a fantastic year ahead and working together to support your child's
educational experience.
In advance, thank you for all of your support, and Go Rockets!
Best,
Jeff Hammond
