A Message From Your Superintendent…
Dear Lowellville Community,
The 2020-2021 school year has come to a close. While it was often times challenging
with COVID-19, we successfully made it through the school year. Thanks to the creative
planning and hard work of the community at large, May was a time for celebration for our
students. We enjoyed prom, open sports, numerous awards programs, performances, track and
field day, and in-person graduation. It felt good to have some normalcy in this chaotic year.
As we plan for the 2021-22 school year, the plan is to be in school in-person five days a
week. Also, we are still discussing other options such as the Rocket Online Learning Academy
and will have information out soon for those that are interested.
Over the past few weeks, we received many questions concerning the implementation of
the COVID-19 protocols, in particular face masks. We are working on the particulars regarding
face masks for summer programming and next year with the Mahoning County Health
Department. It is our hope that the pandemic is under control well enough to not require masks
next school year. However, any and all the requirements are subject to where we are with the
virus in August.
Again, thank you for all you have done to support our students and staff this past year.
We have said it numerous times, but it is worth repeating, our staff put in countless hours to
provide the best education for all students during this pandemic, and they did an outstanding
job! We appreciate all their extra effort this year.
Please continue to look for updates throughout the summer, as we plan to keep you
informed as information becomes available. Have a wonderful start to summer and keep that
Rocket Pride Village Wide!
